This resulted in a cultural and scientific exchange, facilitated by the Normans' tolerance towards the Latin and Greek Christian communities and Arab Muslim settlers. Sicily served as an intersection for the cross-cultural interaction between Norman and Latin Catholic, Byzantine–Orthodox, and Arab–Islamic cultures.
